Description

We are seeking a driven and disciplined Safety Professional with experience in civil construction to join our growing team. The Safety Professional is responsible for assuring applicable safety requirements are communicated to all workers, incorporated in work methods and inspecting the work to ensure that safety measures and instructions are actually applied.  This position will be focusing on trenching, excavation, heavy equipment operation and confined space activities.  Additional duties include preparing Hazard Analysis Plans, Accident Prevention Plans, accident reporting/investigation and training employees on safety in the construction fields. A successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, organizational skills and be self-motivated.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • On-boarding new hires and training them to the company’s standard safety program
  • On-boarding sub-contractors to ensure they comprehend what is required by them on a Kinsley Site
  • Driving to jobsites to perform inspections on jobs and machinery for potential hazards and ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations
  • Conducting investigations into workplace incidents
  • Attend meetings with onsite management to promote workplace safety
  • Developing training materials that reduce employees’ exposure to hazardous materials and situations
  • Train employees in a range of different topics (confined spaces, trenching & excavating, fall protection, CPR/FA, etc.)
  • Work exceptionally well with employees, customers and business associates at all levels with a professional attitude
  • Perform other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Extensive knowledge of and/or experience with the rules and regulations of Workers Comp, OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and the EPA
  • Experience in civil construction is preferred
  • Degree in or credential in safety is preferred
  • Proficient in the use of air monitoring devices is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license is required
